SecureMail (SecMX) -- A way to ensure that you can communicate with anyone using secure email
Welcome
Government agencies and other organisations have been looking for a convenient and low cost way to communicate securely with their customers using email.
This website describes SecureMail (SecMx) -- a standard way to ensure that email is sent and received securely. For most organisations, SecureMail will require no additional equipment, only a change to their system configurations and policies.
- SecureMail recommends servers have a Sender Policy Framework (SPF) record and SenderID, so they can be authenticated as an approved sender of the message.
- SecureMail recommends servers use Transport Layer Security (TLS) to protect email integrity and confidentiality. Most servers have TLS capability, but it is not always turned on.
